Simon returned to his native Pembrokshire in January 2008 and joined Hains & Lewis as a Consultant having retired as a Senior Partner of a large Cardiff firm. He has been a solicitor for over 25 years and during that time he has gained considerable experience in all criminal related matters, Court martial proceedings, mental health law and licencing applications for pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Simon was a Mental Health Act Commissioner for five years and was awarded High Rights of Audience in 1995 and since then has regularly conducted cases as a Higher Court Advocate. He has extensive experience of preparing and conducting a wide variety of cases. Simon is also a Duty Solicitor.
He spent ten years on the National Law Society Council, has been Chairman of the Regional Duty Solicitor Committee, President of Cardiff Law Society and is currently President of the Confederation of South Wales Law Societies.
Simon is also a Territorial Army Officer and lectures at Cardiff University Law School. He also presents the Legal Advice slot on Radio Pembrokeshire.
